SyberJet Aircraft is an MSC Aerospace company and a U.S. based manufacturer of the world's fastest and longest range seven-seat light business jet the SJ30. The SJ30 has a top speed of Mach 0.83 (486 kts / 560 mph), a 2,500 nautical mile range, and maintains sea level cabin pressure up to 41,000 feet (maximum flight ceiling of 49,000 feet). The Project Engineer will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and executing engineering certification projects associated with upgrades to SyberJet's aircraft designs, from start to finish.  This effort will involve coordinating with Engineering Managers that share the limited personnel available to implement the projects, as well as, collaboration with technical engineers, other departments, and outside vendors.  In addition, this position will develop certification documents and interface with the FAA and other airworthiness authorities to support certification activities.

General Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate engineering project activities, from concept through certification, with other engineers, company management, manufacturing, procurement, quality assurance, and vendors.
  • Interface with the FAA and other foreign aircraft certification agencies to support certification efforts. 
  • Provide technical input on projects and activities in support of these certification efforts. 
  • Assist in defining and documenting project scope.
  • Project planning identify steps and resources that will be needed to meet the defined objective.  Identify project issues, risks and then manage them.
  • Create and maintain detailed schedules for various projects that are simultaneously occurring. 
  • Perform critical path analysis, and prepare and implement work-around plans as needed to keep projects on track.
  • Coordinate with engineering managers to utilize limited resources to keep the project on schedule.
  • Provide ongoing reporting of project status against the approved plans and schedule.
  • Create a statement of work in support of each project, and in support of any project aspect that will require support from outside the company.
  • Evaluate business and technical proposals and provide recommendations to management.
  • Develop System descriptions.
  • Create certification documentation, including Project Certification Plans and test plans; including the associated method of compliance.
  • Support design, integration, and certification activities.
  • Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions.


  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in aviation related design / certification activities with some experience in project planning is required.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate project activities involving multiple engineering disciplines, other departments within SyberJet, vendors, and outside consultants is required.
  • Previous experience coordinating with the FAA (or other certification authorities) in support of certification projects is preferred. 
  • Working knowledge of FAA certification requirements (Part 23 and/or Part 25) is desired. 
  • Change management experience is a plus.
  • Experienced in computer aided design (ideally NX) 3D Modeling and drawing creation is desired.
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret and analyze engineering sketches, drawings, schematics, and technical requirements is required.
  • Basic computer/ MS Office skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Project.


  • BS Engineering Degree (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field). 
  • Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
